Car Stuff : 1992 Nissan 240SX SE Super-Hicas

This is my 1992 240SX SE Super Hicas with a RB20DET motor from a Nissan Skyline GTS-T installed. The fastest car I have owned to date with 309 rear wheel horse power at 17.5 psi. Interestingly, when having it emissions tested, the results actually came back cleaner than my California emissions equiped 94 300ZX Twin Turbo. I was getting around 27mpg when driven on the highway, but at the track I would go through a quarter tank of gas in twenty minutes. I took too many shortcuts when building this, and this year I paid the price with the head gasket going among other things after a few hard track sessions. What I learned was don't skimp on your oiling system and don't put off tuning till later because what you have now allows you to drive the car so it's "good enough". If you change your fuel setup, get a tune. Don't worry, I won't be down long. I have an R33 GTR engine sitting in my garage waiting on me to clean it up and install it.

The chassis has the following modifications: KTS coil overs, sub-frame bushing spacers, rear upper control arms, solid tension rods, 5 lug conversion, 5zigen FN01R-C 17x8 +25 front 17x9 +35 rear, R33 GTS25T calipers and rotors front and back with the R33 e-brake setup as well, HP+ brake pads, stainless steel brake lines, ATE blue racing brake fluid, whiteline sway bars front and rear with polyurethene sway bar bushings, 95 240SX front seats, 96 180SX rear seats, rear strut tower bar, upgraded tie-rods and tie-rod ends, stainless steel clutch line, Clarion MP3/CD player and new speakers.

The RB20DET engine has the following modifications: HKS GT 2530 turbo, divorced downpipe, Tomei 256 poncams, Blitz SBC, wideband O2 sensor, socketed ecu with custom tune done at boostlogic, apexi front mount intercooler and custom intercooler piping, custom power steering hoses, Z32 (300ZX) mass air flow sensor, Mazda RX7 550cc fuel injectors (bench flowed at 609cc at 43psi), Nismo fuel pressure regulator, 300ZX fuel filter, 300ZX Twin Turbo fuel pump, braided stainless turbo oil and water lines, Mazda Miata battery, lightweight flywheel, 300ZX NA RPS max street clutch, three inch downpipe, heat range 7 spark plugs, KOYO racing radiator, Samco radiator hoses, and a high-flow catalytic converter.

I did the installation and the wiring myself except when it came to things I needed special tools or welding skills. Then I took it to Japanese Motorsports. I couldn't have gotten this car where it is without them, SPL Parts, Nico Club and the now defunct Race Bread forums. Thanks guys!
